Season 14 - Change in "The Bachelor": RTL sends two single men into the race at once
One Bachelor is not enough. In the 14th season, RTL is sending two bachelors into the race. The two "Rose Cavaliers" will compete for the hearts of the candidates in a direct duel. The popular dating format will even be renamed. The Bachelor" will become "The Bachelors". This has now been announced by the broadcaster. Names and further details about the bachelors are to be announced on December 6.
However, the number of women will not be doubled in the new format. The two men will therefore meet the same ladies. There are even fewer participants in the battle for the roses than last time. According to RTL, there will be 22 female singles in the next season. In the last round, there were 23 candidates (including those who moved up), and in 2022 there will be 24.
New "Bachelor" season starts in spring 2024
The new season of "The Bachelor" - or the first season of "The Bachelors" - is breaking another habit. The show will not start in an exotic location as usual, but in Germany. The Bachelors and their chosen ones will only fly to South Africa after they have met for the first time on home soil.
This is the first time since the fourth season in 2014 that filming has taken place in the African country again. The format was last filmed in the USA and Mexico. Flirting has only been filmed once in Germany so far: The eleventh season with Niko Griesert had to do without exotic flair due to the corona pandemic.
The 14th season is scheduled to start in spring 2024 on RTL and RTL+ , but an exact date has not yet been set. In 2023, it started on March 1, in previous years in January. This year's Bachelor was David Jackson. He chose candidate Angelina Utzeri in the final. At the big reunion, however, Jackson revealed that he was in a relationship with runner-up Lisa Mieschke.
