You announced a comeback - Celine Dion fought her way back to her Olympia performance

Her determination was evident in her gaze as she prepared for the final notes, making clear the immense effort put into this performance: Celine Dion touched millions of women and men worldwide with her opening act at the Olympic Games. From the first platform of the Eiffel Tower, she sang a Chanson by Edith Piaf, taking a great risk. No one knew if the ailing singer would withstand the pressure – not even she herself.

Dion suffers from Stiff-Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disease that causes muscle spasms. For four years, she had not sung in public due to this condition. Her spectacular comeback was only possible through hard work. In April, the singer spoke to the French "Vogue" about her rigorous training and shared how she fought piece by piece. "I do five sessions a week of physio and vocal training. I work on my toes, my knees, my ankle joints, my fingers, my singing, my voice," said Dion.

She had only two options. "Either I train like an athlete and work very hard or I quit and it's all over. Then I'd stay at home, listen to my songs, and sing them to myself in the mirror," so Dion. She had decided to work with a medical team with full body and soul commitment.

And then she said a sentence that could be read as a hint of her then still secret goal in retrospect: "I want to bring out the best in me. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!" At the time, no one knew that she meant not just concerts in Paris, but literally singing a song on the Eiffel Tower. She also dropped a hidden message elsewhere. Asked if she was the best in her musical family, she answered: "No, no, we didn't make Olympic Games!"

Celine Dion has now impressively proven that she has the spirit of an elite athlete. "I have this strength in me. I know nothing can stop me," she was certain in her conversation with the "Vogue".

Dion's comeback performance at the Olympic Games was widely celebrated, earning her recognition as a true inspirational figure. Emulating an athlete's discipline, she trained extensively at Olympia, reflecting her dedication to regain her vocal prowess. In an interview with Vogue, she revealed her desire to sing on the Eiffel Tower, a testament to her ambition and resilience, demonstrating her aspiration to surpass her previous accomplishments.
