Celine Dion expresses that her anxiety over Stiff Person Syndrome has transformed into optimism.

A notable figure who's been a beacon of hope for Dion in her health battle is Dr. Amanda Piquet, a neurologist whom Dion praised during an emotional speech prior to the screening of her upcoming biographical film.

Dion delivered her speech at the New York screening of "Me: Celine Dion" that was also streamed at a Los Angeles event attended by CNN.

In a speech marked by occasional tears, Dion acknowledged Piquet as the one who "has significantly contributed to solving the puzzle of my health issues."

"With her expertise, Dr. Piquet has brought me more than just solutions to manage and treat my condition," Dion expressed, as the crowd applauded her. "She's replaced my fear with hope."

Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) is a seldom diagnosed condition that impacts the nervous system, particularly the brain and spinal cord, according to the Institute for Neurological Disorders.

In 2022, Dion revealed her diagnosis with the condition and her subsequent decision to take a break from professional engagements to concentrate on her health. At the time, she disclosed that the condition affected her ability to sing as she was accustomed to.

During her speech on Monday, Dion playfully commented that "this is the largest crowd I've seen in quite some years."

She went on to express her gratitude towards her children – René-Charles and twins, Nelson and Eddy – stating that they provide her with "daily love and support."

The singer of "Power of Love" also recognized her fans, saying, "your presence throughout my journey has been an unmeasurable gift. The never-ending love and support you've shown me over the years have brought me to this moment tonight."

"Thank you from the very depths of my heart for being part of my journey," she said emotionally. "This film is a heartfelt love letter to each of you and I eagerly look forward to seeing you all again soon."

"Me: Celine Dion" will be streamable on Prime Video from June 25.
