CDU discontinues combustion engine poll

In the run-up to the European elections, the CDU spread an online poll regarding the EU's swipe at ripping out combustion engines. The results, however, were not as they expected. When allegations of manipulation in favor of the ban surfaced, the party gave up.

Instead of setting a fire under their anti-ban agenda with an interactive vote, the CDU willingly laid it to rest. Apparently, their election station disclosed that the poll had been duplicated, damaging the result. More than 85% of participants discredited the CDU's advocacy to scrap the ban via this no-registration, anonymous survey.

"Incredibly disheartening to see the wicked manipulation of this platform," murmured Carsten Linnemann, CDU's General Secretary, to the Express. Manipulation of votes is unethical in any electoral battle, Linnemann further declared. Stricken, he added, "It's unimaginable how deep things have sunk in this nation."

Campaigning Software GmbH: Hillarious mishap

The CDU formally declared their war on the EU's scheduled ban of new vehicles with combustion engines post-2035 on a Friday - a full two weeks prior to the European elections. Their virtual referendum flashed a simple question: "Do you advocate the demand to retract the ban on combustion engines?" with 'Yes' and 'No' as options.

Their stand on the matter was monitored by Campaigning Software GmbH, overseeing the election jamboree of the CDU. The company accentuated that the CDU referendum on the combustion car ban, unveiled on the previous day, had experienced grave tampering. This incident was unchartered in their experience. Christoph Schleifer, a representative from the business, verbalized to the paper, "The CDU's combustion engine-ban vote, launched yesterday, has been marked by a drastic manipulation." His team likewise mandated the cancelation of the poll.

Schleifer reported that precautions, such as a demanding set of security guidelines, were set up for this poll to embrace a harmonious blend of security and ease-of-access. Unfortunately, the simplicity of participation was overpowered by a criminal force. He insinuated, "Bolstered systems including two-factor authentication, with choices like a mobile number or email, are essential barriers against the weight of the crooks at play."

Germany's Turn to Test the Combat Engine Ban

The EU Commission President, von der Leyen, had previously emphasized that the strike force against traffic-polluting motors would be reassessed. Pledged in 2022, the EU's plan called for halts on registrations of vehicles fueled by gasoline or diesel from 2035.

The intention was to slash emissions of environment-damaging greenhouse gases. In their quest, Germany solidified an objective to reduce their exhausts by 65% from 1990 levels in their Climate Protection Law. With an eye on climate impartiality by 2045, many car makers have protested with a petition to the EU. The FDP in their government had demanded an exemption for machinery powered exclusively by environment-friendly e-fuels, while BMW's CEO, Oliver Zipse, criticized the belligerent EU embargo on fresh petrol and diesel cars post-2035.

Under the tagline "Germany must remain a car-manufacturing country", the CDU publicized on their site, "The modern combustion engine is a cutting-edge German technology which shouldn’t be regulated. Clean synthetic fuels are crucial to this"
