People - Cathy Hummels celebrates Christmas in Abu Dhabi
Presenter and influencer Cathy Hummels is spending Christmas far away from home this year. "I'm celebrating with my son in Abu Dhabi this year, then we're flying on to Thailand for a TV production of mine," the 35-year-old told the German Press Agency ahead of her charity Christmas event in Munich.
"The two of us are having a wonderful Christmas Eve and are grateful for everything we have," said the ex-wife of soccer star Mats Hummels. "We sing and we dance and we laugh, just like every evening. Ludwig will definitely play some more soccer."
In her new home in Munich, which she only moved into this year, there is "still some renovation work", she said. "That's why I'm getting away from it all for a bit, to really calm down."
Although she is "no longer a believer, I celebrate being together and like the contemplative atmosphere that prevails at Christmas time", she said. "It makes me very happy."
After her "Wiesn-Bummel", which she has now established as a celebrity event at the Oktoberfest, Hummels is now also organizing a charity event at Christmas. According to her, the donations raised at "Cathy Hummels' Charity Weihnachtszauber" on Tuesday will go to the organization "Children for a better World".
