US actress Cameron Diaz believes that married couples don't necessarily have to sleep side by side. "We should normalize separate bedrooms," said the 51-year-old in the podcast "Lipstick on the Rim". Earlier in the interview, a female interviewee had spoken about her snoring husband.

Diaz, who has been married to rock musician Benji Madden since 2015, had this attitude for a while: "I have my house, you have yours," she explained. "We have the family house in the middle. I go and sleep in my room. You go and sleep in your room." There was also a shared bedroom in the middle for meetings.

"I said that before I got married," added the "3 Angels for Charlie" actress. Today, she could easily share a bed with her "so wonderful" husband Madden.
