Bug discovered on Ukraine's army chief
A listening device appears at the potential future workplace of Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Salushnyi, according to intelligence sources. The SBU is investigating.
The Ukrainian secret service SBU has launched an investigation into the possible wiretapping of Commander-in-Chief Valery Salushnyj. The eavesdropping device was found in a "room that he (Salushnyj) could have used for work in the future", the agency announced last night. "According to preliminary findings", the device had not been in operation; no recordings had been found.
Several Ukrainian media outlets had previously reported that bugs had been found directly in the new offices of Salushnyi and his personal aide. Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian war of aggression for almost 22 months with the help of Western allies.
There has long been speculation about conflicts between the army commander-in-chief and President Volodymyr Zelensky. To Selensky's annoyance, Salushnyj recently said in an interview that the war had reached a dead end. He is repeatedly said to have political ambitions. However, the presidential election originally planned for spring 2024 is currently not in sight due to the current martial law.
