Bruce Springsteen is now a billionaire

For decades, Bruce Springsteen has toured the world and regularly releases successful albums. Two years ago, the 74-year-old sold his music catalog to Sony. This action made the "Boss" part of the US billionaires.

At 74 years old, he still goes on tour and performs three-hour shows. Bruce Springsteen, the "Born in the USA" cult musician, has amassed a considerable fortune in his six decades of work: The American business magazine "Forbes" currently estimates this at 1.1 billion dollars.

He only sold his music catalog to Sony Music in 2021 and earned 500 million dollars for his life's work from this deal. The media representatives of Springsteen have not confirmed the Forbes estimation (up to July 19).

In 2023, Springsteen's world tour sold over 1.6 million concert tickets and generated 380 million dollars in revenue. Throughout his career, the three-time father has led the music charts with 21 studio albums, seven live albums, and five EPs and has sold over 140 million albums worldwide. His memoirs "Born to Run" topped the "New York Times" bestseller lists. After 236 sold-out Broadway performances, 20 Grammys, an Oscar, two Golden Globes, and a special Tony Award, he has earned a place in the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" as well as the "Songwriters Hall of Fame."

Bruce Springsteen only revealed to his fans via Instagram in May that he had to interrupt his tour again because his doctor advised him not to perform for the next ten days. A few months earlier, in September 2022, he postponed all remaining concerts in 2023 to 2024 due to a stomach ulcer. Currently, Springsteen & E Street Band are touring through Norway and England. Concerts are planned until the middle of 2025.

Springsteen's profitable music catalog sale to Sony in 2021, worth half a billion dollars, makes him one of the Billionaires in the US, further solidifying his status in the Entertainment industry. Despite his recent health issues, Music continues to be a source of income for Springsteen, as his latest world tour generated over 380 million dollars in revenue.
