"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star Andre Braugher is dead

The American actor and Emmy winner Andre Braugher, who became famous for series such as "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "Homicide: Life on the Street", has died. He died on Monday after a short, serious illness, his spokeswoman announced yesterday. Braugher was 61 years old.
The actor, who was nominated eleven times for an Emmy, won the coveted television trophy in 1998 for his leading role as a detective in the drama series "Homicide: Life on the Street" and in 2006 for the thriller series "Thief". In the comedy series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", Braugher played Captain Ray Holt alongside Andy Samberg - and thus also became a star in Germany. The series ran for eight seasons from 2013 to 2021 on Netflix.
In addition to numerous fans, a number of fellow actors have already publicly bid farewell to the 61-year-old. Among them: "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" series colleague Terry Crews. He wrote on Instagram to a foro of Braugher: "I'm honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and spent eight glorious years with you watching your irreplaceable talent."
Braugher is survived by his wife Ami Brabson and three sons. Braugher and Brabson were married for more than 30 years and starred together in the series "Homicide".
