Jamie Spears - Britney's father had a leg removed

Jamie Spears (71) has lost the battle for his leg. After several operations following an infection, the doctors decided to remove the leg. The US portal "TMZ" quotes a source as saying: "Jamie had a massive infection in one of his legs that forced him into hospital for weeks. He had five unsuccessful operations to contain the infection and doctors decided the only solution was amputation." According to the report, the amputation took place a month ago, but Jamie Spears is still "not well".

The US magazine "New York Post" reported back in October that the father of US singer Britney Spears (42) looked "extremely thin" and had lost more than 11 kilograms in body weight while undergoing medical treatment for an infection.

Reconciliation with Britney Spears?

After Britney Spears reunited with her mother, Lynne Spears, for the first time last week, there are also rumors of a reconciliation with her father. An insider now claims that the singer has calmed down after a brutal battle over her guardianship. She is even said to have admitted that she misses him and wants to help him. The will to reconcile is said to be present on both sides. "There is nothing Jamie would rather have than a reconciliation with his daughter," it is said. And further: he harbors no ill will.

In 2021, Britney Spears was released from the controversial guardianship under which Jamie controlled her financial affairs and other aspects of her life for years. The guardianship had been imposed after the singer suffered a series of public breakdowns in 2008.
