Britney Spears' autobiography "The Woman in Me" was a bestseller last year. Now, Hollywood is bringing the singer's tumultuous life to the big screen as a biopic. Universal Pictures has secured the rights to the memoirs. American director Jon M. Chu ("Crazy Rich", "In the Heights") is on board, according to a statement. Spears announced on her X platform that she has been working on a "secret project" with producer Marc Platt. She praised him for making her favorite films. Platt, who produced hits like "Legally Blonde" and "La La Land", is reportedly producing the Spears film, according to "Variety" and "The Hollywood Reporter". He is also producing the musical film "Wicked" with Chu, set to release in November.

After a long legal battle, she was finally freed from the conservatorship in November 2021.
