"Breathless" is at number 1 for the first time
That Helene Fischer, her fans and all of us can still experience this: "Atemlos durch die Nacht" has actually managed to climb to the top of the German singles charts for the first time. What the original version was never able to do, has now been achieved with a new version of the song.
"Atemlos durch die Nacht" may be one of Helene Fischer's biggest hits, but it was never enough to reach the top of the charts - until now. A new edition of "Atemlos", in which the pop queen is supported by influencer and rapper Shirin David, has now snatched the top spot in the Official German Singles Charts. This was determined by the market research institute GfK Entertainment.
Fischer and David performed the new version together for the first time live on Thomas Gottschalk's "Wetten, dass...?" farewell show last Saturday. The duet is also intended to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the song, which was first released in 2013.
"Atemlos durch die Nacht" is not only the only song with more than one million downloads in Germany. The song has also spent a total of 118 weeks in the charts, making it one of the biggest hits of all time in Germany.
Casper takes first place for albums
The other placings in the singles charts show that Christmas is just around the corner. The classic "Last Christmas" by Wham! fights its way up to second place, while Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" ranks third. Yakary's "Sonnenbank.mp3" now occupies fourth place, while another Christmas song, "Merry Christmas Everyone" by Shakin' Stevens, completes the top five.
In the albums category, rapper Casper achieved the highest new entry with "Nur Liebe, immer." - straight to number one. The Rolling Stones take second place with "Hackney Diamonds", while Casper's colleague Kontra K secures third place with "Die Hoffnung klaut mir niemand". Rapper Badmómzjay is fresh in fourth place with "Survival Mode" and Stray Kids land in fifth place with "Rock-Star".
