Boris Becker visits his old home
The Becker family is also returning home for the Christmas season. At the weekend, father Boris visits Heidelberg with his sons Noah and Elias. All three are busy documenting their stay on social media.
Boris Becker seems to be drawn back to his former home in the run-up to Christmas. The tennis legend surprised everyone on Instagram with a photo from Heidelberg, where the 56-year-old once went to school for several years. The picture not only shows him in his home environment, but also arm in arm with his two eldest sons Elias and Noah.
The two are from Becker's previous marriage to Barbara Becker, who divorced at the beginning of 2001. The trio pose on the Old Bridge, with Heidelberg Castle in the background. All three smile at the camera. "Sometimes it's important to get back to your roots," Becker comments on his post.
Noah and Elias Becker also captured the family trip to Heidelberg with a few photos in their Instagram stories. Among other things, the trio visited the Heidelberg Christmas market. Noah Becker also posted a selfie with his brother and father at a table. It is not clear from the photos whether Becker's current partner Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro was also in Heidelberg. Becker has been living with her in Milan for several months.
War of words with Kyrgios
Becker recently caused a stir in the tennis world with a spat with Australian tennis bully Nick Kyrgios. "Nick has been making a lot of noise about tennis lately", Becker said on X: "Why is he talking about a sport he obviously hates". Kyrgios had previously commented on comparisons between stars from earlier times around Becker and the current generation.
"The game was so slow back then," the 2022 Wimbledon finalist told The Athletic: "I've looked at Boris Becker and I'm not saying they weren't good in their day, but to say they'd be as good now is absurd." It is a completely different sport. Becker questioned Kyrgios' credibility in view of the fact that the Australian has yet to win a Grand Slam title. The eccentric professional triumphed in doubles at the Australian Open in 2022.

Boris Becker's Instagram post from Heidelberg sparked an outpouring of nostalgia, as he shared a photo of himself and his sons Noah and Elias on the Old Bridge, with the iconic Heidelberg Castle in the background. The post, filled with reminiscence, resonated with the Entertainment world, emphasizing the importance of reconnecting with one's roots.
Although Boris Becker's visit to Heidelberg was widely celebrated, the tennis legend also made headlines with his verbacious exchange with Australian tennis prodigy Nick Kyrgios. In a recent interview, Kyrgios criticized the playing style of Becker's generation, prompting Becker to question Kyrgios' credibility due to his lack of Grand Slam titles to his name.
