- Bond's enduring connection with Pierce Brosnan remains unbroken.
During the filming of "Die Another Day" (2002), the 007 movie, Pierce Brosnan (71) left an indelible mark on Halle Berry (58). In a recent interview with "Wired", the actress who portrayed secret agent Jinx expressed, "He'll forever be my Bond, always." She went on to praise Brosnan, stating, "I'm a fan of Pierce Brosnan. He rekindled my trust in men with that film. There's no gentler man than Pierce Brosnan."
Before starring in a Bond movie, Berry admitted that it wasn't on her acting aspirations. However, she expressed gratitude, saying, "Being a part of one [Bond film] feels like you're a part of cinematic history. These films are iconic and will always be part of our history. I feel incredibly blessed to have been part of one, especially with Pierce."
The popularity of Berry's character, Bond girl Jinx, was so great that the producers even considered a spin-off for her. In 2020, "Variety" reported that the project was shelved due to MGM's apprehensions over the $80 million budget. Berry shared her disappointment, saying, "It was a letdown. It was ahead of its time. No one was ready to invest that much money in a black female action star. They were unsure of her value then."
Halle Berry often cites Pierce Brosnan as her favorite Bond actor, mentioning in an interview, "He'll forever be my Bond, always." Berry also praised Brosnan, acknowledging, "I'm a fan of Pierce Brosnan. He rekindled my trust in men with that film. There's no gentler man than Pierce Brosnan."
