Boateng reportedly labelled ex as a "prostitute."

In Munich, footballer Jerome Boateng's trial with his ex-partner Sherin S., who accuses him of causing harm, is still ongoing. A week ago, he denied the allegations, but now she's telling her side of the story. And it's quite different.

It was exactly ten years ago when Jerome Boateng played in the Football World Cup in Brazil against Ghana. A few weeks later, he and the German national team could proudly lift the trophy. Instead of a trophy at Munich Regional Court, the World Cup winner now faces the possibility of a fine or even jail time.

Sherin S., who is also the mother of his twins, accuses Boateng of causing harm. Specifically, it involves a Caribbean vacation in 2018, during which Boateng is said to have physically assaulted his then girlfriend after an argument. A week ago, the 35-year-old denied the allegations. Instead, he accused his ex of violence. He claimed he only pushed her away. He apologized for this.

Shirin S. Speaks Out

On the second day of the trial, Shirin S. shared her version of events. And it's quite a story.

"We were playing cards," Shirin S. stated to RTL reporters after the court proceedings, "The incident that sparked the dispute began when a friend of the couple accused Boateng of cheating. Boateng allegedly responded with the words: 'You're a nut, you always mess things up.' Then he allegedly threw a windmill at her, which she cut herself on."

"He spat in my face. Then he hit me in the face with both hands. He pushed me down, pulled my hair, bit me in the head. I was on the couch, then he spat in my face again. I felt it in my face. Then he boxed me in the back. I had strong pains in my side. I screamed and cried and said he should go piss himself. I was on the floor, and then he spat in my face again," RTL reported central passages of Shirin S.'s testimony.

Tears Flow

Following the altercation, several injuries were said to have occurred, including a swollen eye, a cut finger, blue marks, and bruises. These injuries, except for the eye injury, were not photographically documented.

Furthermore, Shirin S. stated during the trial that the situation had escalated again later, albeit only verbally. She reportedly said, "I told him I should report him. He replied, 'If you report me, I'll make sure the kids end up in an orphanage.'"

Boateng allegedly responded to his ex's outbursts with a blank stare. His gaze was reportedly fixed on nothing, and he showed no reaction or facial expression. Shirin S., however, began crying during her testimony, leading to a nearly 20-minute recess in the proceedings.

In the course of the negotiation day, a friend of Shirin S., whose name is not mentioned, also spoke up. She had been on vacation in the Caribbean with the couple at the time. She too accused Boateng of using violence. She spoke of fist blows to the face and how the footballer had allegedly kicked the windlight at his ex-girlfriend instead of throwing it, according to her memory. The following day, when she confronted him and told him that one should not hit women, he admitted it and explained that he was in therapy as a result.

The session ended without a judgment. According to the court's schedule, a judgment could be expected on July 19th. The proceedings in this case have been ongoing for years. This is already the fourth time that a court has dealt with the matter. Before the Bavarian Highest Regional Court overturned the judgment, Boateng had been sentenced in second instance to a fine of 120 days each, amounting to 10,000 Euro per day - a total of 1.2 million Euro - for bodily harm and defamation. However, until the final judgment in the case, the presumption of innocence continues to apply to him.
