Bling-Bling and Bussi-Bussi: "Real Housewives of Munich"

Since 2006, rich women have been showing off their luxurious lives in various editions of the reality show "Real Housewives". Now there is also a Munich edition: the Bussi-Bussi version.

New reality show from Munich - Bling-Bling and Bussi-Bussi: "Real Housewives of Munich"

Why squeal when one can squabble? In the streaming service RTL+, a new series begins that takes this motto to extremes. In "The Real Housewives of Munich," six Munich luxury women show what they already have and what they buy themselves - and they shamelessly indulge in all Munich's clichés: Botox, Bling-Bling, and Bussi-Bussi.

It's about outrageously extravagant house parties, quick trips to St. Moritz, new breasts, shopping tours on the Maximilianstraße, champagne parties, men - and a little zickerei is also present. A central statement: "Money doesn't get talked about in Munich - it's given out."

Expensive cars and diamond parties

And this is done for expensive cars, almost as expensive strollers, fine dining at Käfer and a lot, lot of alcohol in this series. What the normies among us have Tupperware parties, the "Housewives" have diamond parties. Money plays no role.

The series, which starts on this Friday (6. July) at RTL+, is said to "give an exclusive insight into the lives of Munich's most glamorous High-Society Ladies," according to the RTL announcement. "Glamour, fashion, and great luxury are in focus – the lives of the extravagant protagonists are never boring." They are all - between 31 and 46 years old - "charismatic, extroverted, and entertaining – and of course extremely wealthy."

Carina, Lili, Seher, Natalie, Pegah, and Joana

The six women at the center of the Munich reality show are Carina (33), the mother and businesswoman; Lili (38), the former business consultant; Seher (38) and Natalie (37), the real estate experts; Pegah (31), the "performance worker"; and Joana (46), the designer.

Not all of them knew each other before the shoot, and so one watches the rich clique of retorts first as they find each other - at least temporarily. The absurd and entertaining aspects of the women, often with a through and through wit of one or another lady, make it just as absurd as touching.

When Pegah, who suffers from an unfulfilled child desire, receives a luxury car as a gift from her husband for the first time, or when Natalie tearfully talks about the separation from her partner and wants to give one of the new friends an incredibly expensive diamond, then the suspicion arises that in excessive consumption, it may be about more than the desire for enjoyment and self-presentation.

Shenanigans with consequences

The fact that not everything went smoothly between the six ladies during filming was also revealed by the protagonists at the premiere: "There must be a little fighting," said Natalie. And even though the women emphasized "We understand each other very well," only five of them were already definitively signing up for a possible second season. Joana kept quiet on the stage. One must first see how it all develops. The first season has six episodes. New ones come every week.

Even Duchess Meghan spoke about the format

Since the start of the first edition of the "real housewives" from Orange County in the USA almost 20 years ago, according to RTL reports, there have been 28 adaptations worldwide in North and South America, Europe, Australia, Asia, and Africa. A particularly successful variant, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," has already completed its 13th season. At some of these seasons, Yolanda Hadid also participated, the mother of the model sisters Bella and Gigi.

Even Prince Harry's wife, Duchess Meghan, expressed herself about the format before. She declined the offer from the producer of the series, Andy Cohen, jokingly, when he suggested her participation in it.
