- Big stunt planned at the Olympics closing

Tom Cruise hands over the Olympic flag to L.A.
According to gossip website "TMZ", Cruise has been training for months for a skydiving stunt that will officially mark the handover of the games to the next host city: the 2028 Summer Olympics will take place in Los Angeles. Cruise is reportedly set to swing from the roof of the Stade de France onto the stadium's field, carrying the Olympic flag. A two-minute pre-recorded clip will then be shown during the TV broadcast of the Olympic closing ceremony, in which Cruise flies the flag from France to Los Angeles in a plane. He will then jump out of the plane and land on the famous Hollywood sign in the mountains above L.A., along with the flag.
"TMZ" shared several photos of the filming, which is said to have taken place in March 2024. According to the site, several Olympic athletes will also be seen in the clip, helping Cruise transport the flag from Paris to L.A.
Big Olympic fan
The idea for the stunt is said to have come from the actor himself, who pitched it to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Tom Cruise is a big fan of the Olympic Games and was one of the torchbearers for the 2004 Games in Athens. He is also attending this year's Games: on July 26, he attended the opening ceremony, and since then, he has been sitting in the audience for several competitions, including gymnastics and swimming.
The report of Tom Cruise's alleged stunt has not been officially confirmed. The closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris will take place on August 11 and will be broadcast live in Germany on ZDF and Eurosport.
