Tempelhof renamed - Berlin band Die Ärzte turns old airport into DÄmpelhof

The Berlin punk rock band Die Ärzte ("Noise", "Scream for Love", "Too Late") tore apart the old Tempelhof airport temporarily. On the gigantic hangar building erected by the Nazis, the visible inscription "Berlin - DAMPelfeld" can be seen above the former check-in area. For one day, the self-proclaimed "best band in the world" consisting of guitarist Farin Urlaub (60), drummer Bela B (61), and bassist Rodrigo Gonzalez (56) were allowed to change the sign on the listed building. According to reports, the first two letters of the band name are expected to disappear again on this Saturday.

Three Concerts at "DAMPelfeld"

The "DAMPelfeld" airfield is once again a playground for Die Ärzte. For the three concerts on August 23, 24, and 25, the band offers Social Tickets for €20 again. Regular tickets for four times the price are only available for the last concert. Together with "Labor Tempelhof", the concerts are to be organized again as "climate- and resource-positive events in the sense of the circular economy". Played is approximately with eco-electricity, and those who have drunk water-saving beer from bread crusts can go to separating toilets for nutrient recovery.

"We all live on the same planet"

"We support the sustainability project 'Labor Tempelhof' because we all live on the same planet - and we hope that the topic of climate and resource conservation will soon become the new norm", the band stated. "How could one better break a lance for this than at concerts where everyone has fun?" In addition, the idea of a consistent circular economy is an offer to be sustainable without compromise. "How cool is that, please!?" Find Die Ärzte.
