Benny Gantz demands Netanyahu reveal his Gaza strategy.

The Israeli administration is locked in combat with Hamas, but there's no accord within the right-wing alliance on post-war arrangements for the Gaza Strip. Now, Gantz is putting time limits on Netanyahu and proposing a six-step strategy.

Former Defense Minister Benny Gantz has set a deadline of 8th June for establishing an order in the Gaza Strip after the war. If Netanyahu fails to comply, Gantz threatens to remove his center-based party from the temporary government, revealed on Saturday. It's crucial to determine who will control the Gaza Strip when the battle with the radical Islamic Hamas ends. Gantz didn't specify when his party will pull out of the coalition formed during wartime, which also comprises opposition parties.

Gantz is intensifying pressure on Netanyahu, who's his top political opponent and potential successor. On Wednesday, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also requested information-sharing regarding post-war plans and insisted Netanyahu exclude the idea of a perpetual army occupation of the Gaza Strip. If Netanyahu decides to vacate the Palestinian territory, his right-wing partners may disband the alliance. They're pushing for the annexation and colonization of the Gaza Strip.

"Minority seized the helm"

"Personal and political factors have permeated the core of Israel's defense system," noted Gantz. "A small group has seized command of the Israeli ship and is navigating it towards the treacherous shores." He also hinted at the suspended corruption probes against Netanyahu, which are shelved due to his present position as PM.

Gantz proposes a six-point agenda, which involves temporary administration of the Gaza Strip by the US, Europe, Arab states, and Palestinians. However, Israel should remain in charge of security. Additionally, he encourages the extension of mandatory military service to ultra-Orthodox Jews, who currently avoid such obligations. Nevertheless, two of Netanyahu's allies want to preserve the exemptions.

Gantz's six-point strategy includes proposing temporary administration of the Gaza Strip by international bodies, with Israel maintaining security control. This suggests a potential shift in Israel's war strategy concerning Gaza, led by Benjamin Netanyahu's political rival and potential successor.

The ongoing Israel war with Hamas in Gaza has sparked a debate within the Israeli right-wing alliance over post-war arrangements for the Gaza Strip, with Benny Gantz pushing for a change in tactics and urging Netanyahu to reveal his strategy.
