Belgium Recently Reveals They'll Provide Ukraine with 30 F-16 Fighter Jets by 2028. These Jets Could Be a Much-Needed Asset For Ukraine in Light of The Russian Threat.

In a first of its kind announcement, Belgium declared they will furnish Ukraine with 30 F-16 fighter jets, but not before 2028. Skirmishing with the Russian danger, it would be in Ukraine's backing to use these planes right now.

Belgium spoke up, saying Ukraine would receive 30 F-16 fighter jets by 2028. The distribution, as told by Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib on Bel RTL radio program, will allegedly begin at the end of this year. Belgium is one among several European allies bent on delivering F-16 jets to Ukraine. Apart from Brussels, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Norway have also guaranteed F-16 jets to Kiev. Nevertheless, the figures are frequently ambiguous, or there has been no concrete data. To date, approximately 60 fighter jets are being discussed to arrive in Ukraine.

The Dutch Defense Department disclosed their plan to give away at least 24 planes. In the past, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke of approximately 48 and 19 from Denmark. There are likewise F-16s expected from Norway. If everything goes ideally, Kiev could anticipate over 100 fighter jets in total - but it will take more time.

A mighty air force needs roughly 160 fighter aircraft, Zelenskyy said in an interview on Portuguese television last year. Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Mykhailo Podolyak added, "We need 60 to 80 F-16 fighter jets to successfully protect our airspace."

The first squadron of Ukrainian pilots have successfully completed their training in the United States and are now on their way to Europe for additional training. These pilots are set to be battle-ready against Russian air forces by the summer.

It is equally important to ready the F-16 maintenance technicians. The Dutch Defense Department announced that ten Ukrainian soldiers concluded training to support these planes. According to Ukrainian information outlets, these technicians will next return to their homeland and educate others.

The delivery of F-16s from Belgium is a component of a bilateral security deal with NATO worth almost a billion Euros. "The deal includes 977 million Euros from Belgium for Ukrainian military assistance this year, along with Belgium's endorsement to support our country through the following ten-year span," Selenskyj noted on his Telegram platform.

Aside from the F-16 fighter jets, the agreement consists of "modern armored automobiles, equipment for the Ukrainian air force and air defense, ammunition, landmine-clearing assistance, and soldier training."
