Beatrice Egli becomes a judge on "DSDS"
A good ten years after her victory in the RTL casting show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar", pop singer Beatrice Egli is returning - this time as a member of the jury. The 35-year-old will join Dieter Bohlen (69) and Pietro Lombardi (31) on the jury for the spring season, the broadcaster announced on Friday. Rapper and influencer Loredana (28) will take fourth place.
Egli was the first female artist with a German pop song to be successful on the casting show in 2013. With her appearance as a juror, she now wants to give back respect and gratitude for the fact that she was able to start her career on the "DSDS" stage, the Swiss singer said in a video on rtl.de. "I'm curious about the voices of Germany." Rapper Loredana comes from a completely different musical direction. Show titan Dieter Bohlen is looking forward to the two new judges. "It will be very interesting, because they will of course have completely different opinions," he said. The 21st edition of the show has all the ingredients for a "great season".
RTL had actually announced that the 20th season would be the last this year. While up to 15 million people watched the first season in 2002/2003, only a good two million tuned in to the TV most recently. But then Bohlen surprisingly announced a continuation in 2024. "DSDS" has an "incredible distribution" via streaming, including on Instagram and Tiktok, he said.
Incidentally, when the "DSDS final" aired on RTL this year, Egli appeared on ARD at the same time as her "Die Beatrice Egli-Show" - attracting significantly more viewers than the casting format.
- Beatrice Egli, who gained fame from her victory on RTL's "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" a decade ago, expressed her excitement about joining the jury of "DSDS" alongside Dieter Bohlen, Pietro Lombardi, and Loredana, noting her appreciation for the platform that kickstarted her career.2.pite Dieter Bohlen's announcement of continuing "DSDS" in 2024 due to its strong streaming presence on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, the 21st season of the show is anticipated to be another successful one, with diverse perspectives from new judges Beatrice Egli and Loredana adding to the mix.
- Contrastingly, in a peculiar twist of events, Beatrice Egli's concurrent show on ARD, "Die Beatrice Egli-Show," garnered significantly more viewers during the "DSDS final" this year, highlighting her continued influence in the German media landscape, including both television and music.
