Authorities in Nebraska are searching for a suspect who shot at officers and kidnapped a hostage.
Jason Davenport, a 42-year-old man from Council Bluffs, is the suspect in a recent incident, according to the Nebraska State Patrol. They described him as being around 6-foot-3, weighing between 170 and 200 pounds. He fled in a gray Ford Fusion with Iowa plates, as reported by the Omaha Police Department.
Authorities believe that Davenport is armed and might be injured, so anyone who comes across him should immediately call 911.
Davenport had been on the run from law enforcement since last week, with an active arrest warrant outstanding for him.
On Thursday night, when officers tried to approach his residence, Davenport opened fire with a handgun. Both the patrol and an Omaha Police officer engaged in a shootout. However, Davenport managed to abduct a woman and make his getaway in the gray Ford Fusion. Thankfully, no one was harmed during this ordeal.
Davenport's hostage's identity was not disclosed by the officials. They also didn't provide any details about her possible connection to him.
The Federales and the Omaha City Police continued their pursuit of Davenport. With the help of helicopters, they scoured Upland Park, but the suspect, his vehicle, and the woman, couldn't be found.
