Berlin hosts a democracy event. - At the Baerbock event, screams and boos were heard as someone exclaimed, "There are no threats present here."

During the Democracy Festival in Berlin, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock faced angry protests during a discussion with ordinary citizens. Several people disrupted the conversation by shouting angrily and waving banners, accusing the government of being caught up in corruption and bias. They urged Baerbock to cease all arms deliveries to Israel immediately.

Baerbock attempted to respond in a gentle manner as the commotion and continuous disruptions made it challenging to continue the discussion. "There is no danger here," she informed one participant. The German administration is focused on helping Israelis and Palestinians to coexist in harmony, she reassured them. She urged the participants to focus on the facts.

At least 8 individuals had to leave the venue, the Tipi at the Chancellery, some of them with loud protests. There were even some instances of physical altercations with the security staff. Two women refused to abandon the venue despite the disruptions. Baerbock repeatedly tried to approach these two women and asked security not to resort to violence against the protestors. She halted the dialogue several times in order to do this. The majority of the crowd had incredulous reactions and booed loudly.

One of the two women later admitted to being an "anti-Zionist Jew". She declared she could not freely voice her opinions on the Gaza war in other parts of Germany since her views would be suppressed there. In her view, Germany's meddling in the Gaza conflict would result in the complete destruction of the area.

Baerbock affirmed that Israel has the right to self-defense. She acknowledged Margot Friedländer, a Holocaust survivor, who insisted that blood has no religion but is simply human. This principle guides the federal government's actions in the Gaza conflict according to Baerbock.
