Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger has once again shown his support. The former Republican governor of California took a clear stance at a meeting with survivors of Hamas terror against civilians in Israel on October 7, 2023. According to a report by the celebrity portal "TMZ" , Schwarzenegger spoke out against the "barbaric, unprovoked attack by Hamas" and offered his support for the state of Israel. The images that were leaked to him were unlike anything he had ever seen before, he said.
At the meeting, which was organized by the famous Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem, Schwarzenegger spoke with 14-year-old Ella Shani, among others, who travelled from Israel to Santa Monica in the USA especially to meet the former "Terminator" actor. Shani gave a dramatic account of her experiences when Hamas terrorists attacked her kibbutz Beeri, murdered her father and kidnapped her 16-year-old cousin together with other men in the Gaza Strip.
"My mission is to spread peace"
While Schwarzenegger listened to Shani's story, he reportedly had tears in his eyes. At the end, the two embraced and he showed her some memorabilia from his most famous films, among other things. For example, the world-famous robot skull skeleton from 'Terminator'.
The actor and politician was also visited by some relatives of Israeli hostages who are still in the clutches of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. He presented them with bronze eagle statutes. After the event, Schwarzenegger said that his mission was still to spread peace in the world. That is still stronger than hatred and anger.
Hamas commits atrocities against civilians
On 7 October, hundreds of fighters from Hamas, classified as a terrorist organization by the USA and the EU, entered Israel and committed atrocities, mainly against civilians. According to Israeli reports, around 1,200 people were killed in Israel and around 240 people were taken hostage in the Gaza Strip.
In response, Israel has been massively bombarding targets in the Gaza Strip from the air and on the ground for weeks. According to information from the radical Islamic group Hamas, which cannot be independently verified, more than 15,000 people have been killed in the Palestinian territory since then, most of them civilians.
