Marvel-Star Robert Downey Jr. - Approximately half of the fallen army Hammer
Actor Armie Hammer ("Call Me by Your Name", 37) seemed on track to reach the pinnacle of Hollywood a few years ago. But then serious allegations of misconduct against the American were made public. He lost several roles or withdrew from them himself, and checked into a rehab clinic for six months in 2021. However, rumors that "Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr. (59) had paid for Hammer's rehab were refuted by Hammer in a new interview with British journalist Piers Morgan ("Piers Morgan Uncensored") on July 19, 2022.
Armie Hammer: "This guy will find you and help you"
Vanity Fair reported in 2022 that Downey Jr. had funded Hammer's rehab. In a new interview with Piers Morgan, Hammer (37) contradicted this rumor. "No, he didn't. He didn't pay for me to go to rehab", Hammer said when Morgan brought up the story.
However, Hammer, who was cancelled in Hollywood due to the aforementioned misconduct allegations, revealed that Downey Jr. had been instrumental in helping him. "Anyone in Hollywood who's dealing with any kind of addiction problem - be it alcohol, things like gambling or drugs - and decides to get sober, this guy will find you and help you. It's amazing", Hammer said candidly.
