Angela Merkel's memoirs will hit the shelves by late November.
After stepping down from her role in active politics, ex-Chancellor Merkel has been penning down her political reminiscences. Scheduled for release in November this year, as per the publishing house Kiepenheuer & Witsch, her memoirs will focus on major global political events and a specific question that lies at the heart of the book.
The upcoming political memoirs from Germany's longest-serving Chancellor, Angela Merkel, will hit the shelves on November's end, as confirmed by the publishing company Kiepenheuer & Witsch. These memoirs, spanning almost 700 pages, will be titled "Freiheit. Memories 1954 - 2021". Merkel sees freedom not merely as a political concept centered around democracy, rule of law, and human rights, but along with that, she also interprets it as a personal journey to understand her own limits and explore her boundaries. "Freedom for me signifies questioning my own bound, pushing those boundaries beyond their limits."
The book touches upon her upbringing in the GDR, the start of her political career, and her fourteen-year tenure as Chancellor. These memoirs were created in partnership with her long-time office manager, Beate Baumann. Aiming for dissemination in over 30 countries worldwide, the 69-year-old manager is creating a lasting impact with her narrative.
