Once more, Pocher resurfaces, substituting for Aly. - Amira Aly expresses satisfaction with her former moniker "puddle"
Amira Aly is back in the spotlight! In her latest podcast episode, she discusses why she chose to compete as Amira Aly instead of Amira Pocher, against singer Vanessa Mai on "Schlag den Star" last weekend. Additionally, she reveals that she never wanted to carry the Pocher name in the first place.
Following the public drama surrounding her divorce from comedian Oliver Pocher, whom she married in 2019, Amira decided to drop her former name on both TV and social media. "I've submitted an application to change my name at the registry office," she explained to the Bild newspaper prior to the show. "It's not official yet, just a formality. But by participating in 'Schlag den Star' as Amira Aly, I can start getting used to my new or old name."
Amira Aly: "It was an incredibly intense feeling"
This new beginning was successful for Amira Aly. And it wasn't just because she defeated Mai and won 100,000 euros. "And now, Amira Aly has triumphed in 'Schlag den Star'. It was an incredibly intense feeling," she remembers in the latest episode of her Podimo podcast "Liebes Leben", which she shares with her brother Hima.
"I wanted to enter and win this show as Amira Aly," she admits. "I'm excited to carry my name once again. It just feels right." Amira Aly feels that "Amira" is a perfect name for her, one that truly suits her personality. She also feels "totally comfortable" with her name since the show, and claims to feel "refreshed" again. She finally has the sense that she's doing something without the constant scrutiny of her personal life.
Moreover, Amira explains that she still recalls her initial reluctance to give up the Aly name for Pocher. She had suggested a double name at the time, but "the other side wasn't on board with that."
100,000 euros and a new home
When asked by her brother about the 100,000 euro prize money, Amira reveals that she "definitely has a use for it." She plans to use the money to build a home for herself and her children in Cologne. Construction is scheduled to begin in October, and she wants to provide updates from the construction site then.
"I will also keep the money in this format," she had told Bild. She intends to use the money to construct a house for herself and her two sons, as well as to pay off various bills that come with being a single mother. Her ex-husband had previously made public claims that he paid child support, but Amira claims he does not. She plans to use the prize money to furnish the children's rooms and cover other related expenses. Pocher responded on Instagram, among other things, "Math has never been her strength..."
