American in the U.S. admits to stealing a beer mug.

In the past, when this individual was a college student in the US, he made a mistake by taking a blue ceramic mug from the renowned Munich Hofbräuhaus. This incident occurred more than fifty years ago in 1972. Now, as a senior residing in Wyoming, he wants to make up for his previous transgression.

In a message to the pub, which was published by the Ippen Media Group, the man admitted to stealing the mug and expressed regret. "However, I know I'll have to pay for my past actions," he stated. To compensate for his wrongdoing, he enclosed a fifty-dollar bill in his letter.

"We appreciated receiving the letter," said Wolfgang Sperger, the owner of the Hofbräuhaus, to the newspaper tz. It's common for former visitors to contact the establishment when they realize they've stolen a stein. A few years back, a lady from the United States even mailed back a stolen item.
