Amazon to invest 7.8 billion euros in setting up data centers across Germany.
Amazon Web Services (AWS), the biggest cloud provider, intends to set up new data centers in Germany during the upcoming years. The online retailer's subsidiary revealed on Wednesday that it will sink 7.8 billion euros into Brandenburg locations by 2040.
These new investments are expected to generate an average of 2,800 full-time jobs annually for local German companies. In 2019, AWS declared its plans to establish data centers in the European Union (EU) to comply with the stringent data protection regulations of both governments and businesses operating in heavily regulated sectors.
