Renowned American actress Goldie Hawn heads the lineup. - "Always secure" after two break-ins happened.
US actress Goldie Hawn (78) now feels insecure in her Los Angeles home after experiencing two break-ins in 2020. She shared this in the latest episode of Kelly Ripa's (53) "Let's Talk Off Camera" podcast. Since then, Hawn has had a security guard with her at all times.
The First Burglary
Goldie Hawn disclosed that "clever" burglars broke into her L.A. home while she and her partner, actor Kurt Russell (73), were out for dinner. "We were robbed once. We went out, had dinner together, and we were about two hours and 20 minutes away," she recalled.
Upon returning home, Hawn wanted to go to bed but noticed her belongings were missing. "I went up the stairs and went to my dressing room and I just turned around," she told Ripa. The thieves had gained entry through the balcony into her bedroom, and even managed to break into her security door, stealing various items.
The Second Burglary
Four months later, her house was burglarized again. This time, Hawn was alone at home with the pets. She recalled hearing a "dull thud" but didn't realize the severity of the situation until the next day. "I was alone in the house. The dog and I heard this dull thud in the upstairs, and I was alone. Kurt wasn't there, and I thought, 'What the hell was that?'" she shared. She initially thought it was a "sonic boom."
To her shock, it was discovered that the burglars had attempted to break into her bedroom while she was present. "I was completely shocked and couldn't believe that my house had been targeted again," she recounted.
Ever since, Hawn has employed a 24/7 security service to ensure her safety and that of her family. "I'm never without a guard... especially when I'm alone," she informed Ripa. This has allowed her to feel "good."
Moving away from Los Angeles
Hawn and Russell have now relocated 131 miles (about 211 km) outside of Los Angeles to Palm Desert, California. In the podcast, she expressed relief over leaving Los Angeles, saying she now feels "safe" after years of battling with the "terrible" city. The couple previously lived in Pacific Palisades and Malibu in Los Angeles. They also have houses in Colorado and New York City.
The pair have been together since 1983 and have one son, Wyatt Russell (37). Hawn gained custody of Kate Hudson (45) and Oliver Hudson (47) during their relationship.
