French comedy - "Almost perfect Christmas": senior citizens cause chaos

Christmas at the Barands' is sacred. Especially for Vincent, the father, who is delighted to be reunited with his whole family. When his children cancel their visit at the last minute, he can't imagine spending the holidays alone with his wife. At a Christmas service, he has a thought of charity: without further ado, he decides to invite a lonely resident of a retirement home.

In the comedy "Almost Perfect Christmas" (originally "Noël Joyeux"), French director and actor Clément Michel ("I love you!") tells the story of a Christmas Eve where everything gets out of hand. Monique, who has been invited to the Barands' home, takes her best friend Jeanne with her. A rustic duo that causes a lot of chaos.

Franck Dubosc, France's most popular comedian, who recently made audiences laugh with "The Rumba Therapy", has slipped into the role of the father of the family. His wife Béatrice is played by the award-winning Emmanuelle Devos ("Lip Service", "The Savior").

A chaotic duo

The two senior citizens quickly make themselves at home in their hosts' house. They help themselves to Béatrice's closet to get dressed up for the evening. Monique shows a fondness for whisky, and the charming lady is not averse to alcohol. Jeanne, on the other hand, nags about everything. She doesn't like the fact that there is only fish instead of turkey, nor does she like her room, which she finds too small.

While Béatrice's bile slowly overflows, Vincent sticks to his principle of charity. But when Jeanne throws Christmas baubles into the neighbor's garden as proof that she was once a feared shot-putter, even he has had enough. In the end, however, Christmas Eve is not completely ruined for the four of them.

"Almost Perfect Christmas" is a charming comedy in which Danièle Lebrun ("Black Friday for Future") as Monique and Danielle Fichaud ("Aline - The Voice of Love") as Jeanne form a chaotic duo that is just as convincing as Dubosc and Devos, an old married couple who rediscover themselves thanks to the two ladies.
