Must defend himself against numerous accusations: AfD candidate Maximilian Krah.

Allegedly, Krah received funds from China as well.

Krah, a European politician from the AfD party, is under suspicion for allegedly accepting money from Russia. However, it seems like his ties with China are also under scrutiny as he's now accused of receiving a sizeable amount from the Chinese secret service. His former employee, named Jian G., is currently in custody over serious espionage charges for China. According to reports, Krah is not aware of these allegations and can only comment after verifying the payment transactions.

Investigators had been monitoring Krah's employee, G., for a year and found he had claimed to have paid his boss more than €50,000. Furthermore, G. allegedly confessed that the money came from Chinese secret services. The funds were seemingly transferred in the form of fictitious invoices from a German company he managed. One such invoice amounted to €14,000.

The "Süddeutsche Zeitung" reports that Krah, with a monthly income of nearly €10,000 as an MEP, is known for his lavish lifestyle. Despite this, he maintains that he lives modestly and uses public transportation for his commutes. Krah is the AfD's top candidate in the upcoming European elections. However, these allegations have limited his participation in events and engagements.

The Dresden Public Prosecutor's Office is also investigating Krah for possibly accepting money from Russia. This caught the attention of the FBI, who had previously questioned him before his entry into the US. This inquiry stemmed from a chat featuring an intermediary of Putin confidant Viktor Medvedchuk who allegedly claimed to have paid Krah money. Krah denies these claims.

Another controversy involves Krah allegedly providing a house pass for the European Parliament to a Russian propagandist named Janus N. This information comes from reports in "Der Spiegel" and "ZDF". Janus N. is currently on trial in Warsaw for spying for Russia. He was accused of mingling with European parliamentarians to spread disinformation and propaganda. Krah stated that he was unaware of Janus N. and attributed the pass application to a former employee.

Another AfD party member, Petr Bystron, is also facing similar accusations. He is currently the second candidate on AfD's list for the European Parliament elections. According to Czech intelligence, he's said to have received money for appearances on the Russian propaganda channel Voice of Europe. Bystron also denies these allegations.
