Netflix has released a first teaser for "Spaceman", which gives a foretaste of the "short story of a bohemian space flight". And it shows an unusually serious and profound Sandler, the likes of which have never been seen before.
Adam Sandler as a profound astronaut
The actor is seen walking through a green, overgrown landscape as an astronaut. In the 24-second video, he says: "Just like you, I escaped from my planet. Through galaxies, through black holes, through time. But then I found you."
Netflix's official synopsis reveals a little more. It says: "An astronaut sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect mysterious dust samples realizes that his life on Earth is in ruins." That's why he begins to listen to the only voice that can help him save everything. What he doesn't know is that the voice belongs to a "being from the beginning of time that is hiding in his spaceship".
Sounds cryptic and it is already clear that it will be difficult to tell in the film whether Sandler, as a lonely astronaut, is losing his mind or living through a real situation. In any case, the story is not a new one and is based on the novel by Jaroslav Kalfař, which is called "Spaceman of Bohemia" in its original language. The space adventure was directed by music video director Johan Renck, who was previously involved in productions for the hit series "Breaking Bad" and "The Walking Dead".
"Spaceman" starts on March 1, 2024 on Netflix.
