- Alain Delon bids a quiet goodbye.
Famed French actor Alain Delon is set to be privately buried this Saturday, as per reports, in the company of his immediate family and select friends at his residence, La Brûlerie, located in Douchy, central France. The service commences at 5 PM, as announced by BFMTV. Attendees will include his three children, Anthony, Anouchka, and Alain-Fabien, as well as approximately forty individuals. The acclaimed figure behind movies like "The Ice-Cold Angel" and "The Swimming Pool" departed this world on Sunday at the age of 88.
The ceremony will unfold in the chapel constructed by the actor within his extensive estate, alongside the numerous canines he had interred there.
Delon had expressed a preference for a low-key funeral on his property, hoping to steer clear of a national tribute akin to those awarded to Jean-Paul Belmondo or Johnny Hallyday. Though not commonplace, such home memorial services are legal in France, subject to stringent regulations.
Father Jean-Michel Di Falco, the former bishop of Gap, will preside over the departed actor's funeral, as per his bequest to the late thespian, as he shared with the French press agency AFP.
The chapel where the ceremony will take place is situated within Delon's estate in Douchy, a picturesque town in central France. Despite being a famous French actor, Delon preferred a simple home memorial service, which is permitted in France under certain conditions.
