- After training, a real "weapon"
Since mid-July, it has been known that Amira Pocher (31) will face Vanessa Mai (32) in "Beat the Star". The host and former partner of Oliver Pocher (46) doesn't want to simply concede the field to the singer, as she hints in her podcast.
Vanessa Mai 'has no chance'
"I have to 'shave here now'," Amira Pocher says in the Podimo podcast "Love Life" that she has with her brother Hima Aly. She's confident that her opponent "has no chance".
In the boxing studio where she trains, there are "these dummies, these giant sandbags shaped like people," about 1.80 meters tall and 80 kilograms heavy. And she had to throw one of those from her shoulders. To her personal trainer, Pocher said, "You do realize I'm not doing 'Celebrity Boxing', right? I'm doing 'Beat the Star'." She says she's "a complete weapon now". Even her upper body and thighs got a good workout recently. "Everything hurts," she says.
Hima wants to support his sister Amira
Mai looks very athletic, and Pocher suspects that the "Beat the Star" producers want to "teach them a lesson". But Hima wants to support his sister in the show: "Now it's the other way around."
He used to perform with a dance group in the Austrian show "Die große Chance", and Amira cheered him on, they explain. She was "bursting with pride" and "screamed her lungs out" at the recording in Vienna. "She's getting it back now," Hima jokes.
Pocher will face Mai on August 24th at 8:15 PM on ProSieben. It won't be easy for the host, as the singer has experience. In 2019, she competed and won against Luna Schweiger (27).
As usual, Pocher and Mai will face off in a duel of up to 15 rounds, with 100,000 euros up for grabs. Matthias Opdenhövel (53) will host, and Ron Ringguth (58) will commentate.
Amira Pocher mentioned in her Podimo podcast "Love Life" with her brother Hima Aly that she's confident her opponent, Vanessa Mai, has no chance in their upcoming "Beat the Star" match. During her training sessions, Amira expressed her amusement to her personal trainer, stating, "I'm not doing 'Celebrity Boxing', I'm doing 'Beat the Star'."
