After Swift's endorsement, Harris opted for a daring move by picking "The Man" as her departure song from the post-debate gathering.

Kamala Harris subtly expressed her sentiments through her song choices, particularly with "The Man," during her speech on Tuesday night.

After Swift's endorsement, Harris opted for a daring move by picking "The Man" as her departure song from the post-debate gathering.

After her debate against ex-President Trump in Philadelphia, Harris attended a post-debate gathering to thank her supporters. This came shortly after Taylor Swift publicly backed Harris' presidential campaign.

"Hard work pays off, and we're going to win," Harris addressed the crowd.

"See you later," she said, leaving the stage as Swift's 2019 hit "The Man" played.

Swift's voice could be heard singing, "I'm tired of running as fast as I can / Wondering if I'd get there quicker if I was a man." Harris joyfully high-fived and interacted with her supporters.

CNN contacted Swift and Harris' team for comments on the song selection.

The song and its accompanying video caused quite a stir in 2020.

Swift, the songwriter and director of the music video, transformed into "Tyler Swift" for the project, highlighting the gender-based discrepancies mentioned in the song.

"They'd say I worked hard / Put in the effort / They wouldn't frown at me and question my worth," Swift sang in the hit track. "What I wore, if I was rude / Could be credited away from my smart decisions and power moves."

Swift claimed she meticulously explored the Harris-Walz ticket before endorsing them.

"I'm backing @kamalaharris because she champions the rights and causes I think desperately require a champion. I think she is a competent leader and believe our country could do far more if steered by reason, not chaos," Swift posted. "I was profoundly moved and impressed by her choice of running mate @timwalz, who's been advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman's autonomy over her own body for years."

Swift ended her post as "Childless Cat Lady," alluding to statements made in 2021 by Trump's running mate Senator JD Vance.

In a post-debate interview with MSNBC, Walz expressed gratitude for Swift's support.

"I want to thank Taylor Swift first and foremost – and as a fellow cat lover," Walz said.

"That was elegant and clear," he added. "And that's the type of bravery we need in America, to speak up."

Trump downplayed Swift's Democratic endorsement.

"She might face repercussions in the marketplace," Trump mentioned to Fox News.

Although several high-profile artists have protested against the Trump campaign using their music, Harris hasn't – at least openly – encountered similar issues.

In July, Beyoncé gave Harris permission to use her song "Freedom" for her presidential campaign. The song has since become a rallying cry for Harris, featuring in both her ads and at her campaign events.

Harris expressed her gratitude towards Swift's support, stating, "It's amazing to have such a strong advocate for entertainment and equality in our corner."

During the campaign, Beyonce's powerful anthem "Freedom" became a staple in Harris' entertainment-filled rallies, boosting her morale and resonating with her audience.
