Christina Applegate with MS - Actress talks about intimate problems
Actress Christina Applegate (52) is very open about her MS diagnosis. In her podcast "MeSsy" with her friend Jamie-Lynn Sigler (42), who is also affected by MS, she recently discussed a sensitive topic. Applegate referred to Sigler in the July 2nd episode as "the Simon to my Garfunkel" and used this for a quick topic shift. "Your bush looks just like mine right now," Applegate joked with reference to Art Garfunkel's (82) iconic hairdo.
"People with MS can relate to that"
There was a brief pause, followed by both women laughing. Then Applegate explained the difficulties she faces with shaving her bikini zone due to her condition. "Shave yourself when your belly is as big as mine," she said. She has to lift herself up to reach the appropriate area. "You're one-legged, trying to stand and tip over in the shower," Applegate said. "I know many people with MS can relate to that," the 52-year-old added.
For Sigler, this seems to be a common problem. "You have to sit on the floor," Sigler said. "You have to literally sit on the floor of your shower and twist oddly."
Christina Applegate speaks candidly and honestly about her illness. In a June podcast episode, she said she can no longer enjoy life and has less fun than before. She also spoke openly about the psychological problems her MS diagnosis brought. In 2021, she made her condition public only a few months after receiving the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis.
Applegate's comparison of her struggles with Sigler to the famous duo Garfunkel and Simon resonates with other individuals dealing with MS. In the same vein, Sigler shares her struggles with shaving in the shower, echoing Applegate's experience. Despite her challenges, Applegate continues to be open and honest about her MS journey, even sharing her feelings of despair and loss of joy.
