Kate Hudson - Actress renounces deodorant
Kate Hudson (45) revealed in an interview that Matthew McConaughey (54) is not the only Hollywood star who doesn't use deodorant. She herself also forgoes it. The actress shared this on Wednesday (July 17) on the talk show "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen."
Hudson could smell him "from a mile away"
Host Andy Cohen (56) asked Hudson if it was true that she had forced McConaughey to use deodorant during the filming of "Fool's Gold" (2008). "No," answered the actress. "He doesn't use deodorant - and by the way, neither do I," she added, laughing. They were both "completely natural" on set, she explained.
However, Hudson spoke about how she could smell McConaughey "from a mile away." In the romantic action-comedy, they played the treasure hunter couple Ben and Tess Finnegan. McConaughey reportedly told "Playboy" in a conversation that Hudson had brought a rock to the set with her back then. She had asked him to wear the stone, which was supposed to cover up smells. However, McConaughey did not comply with her request.
Other stars also do without
The two actors are not alone in their habit. In 2014, Cameron Diaz (51) told "E! News" that she had gone without antiperspirant for almost 20 years. She gave as her reason that it holds in unpleasant smells. Comedian and Podcaster Marc Maron (60) also swears by his own scent, as he revealed to "Us Weekly" in 2015. According to "New York Magazine," fashion designer Tom Ford (62) reportedly said at the launch party for a perfume in 2006 that he does without deodorant.
Andy Cohen was intrigued by Kate Hudson's revelation about Matthew McConaughey's lack of deodorant usage, mentioning that Deodorant is a common hygiene product many people use daily. Duchess Catherine, known for her impeccable style and grace, has also chosen not to use deodorant, adding an unexpected twist to the celebrity hygiene habits. Matthew McConaughey, in a different context, once spoke about his faith during an interview, sharing that God plays a significant role in his life.
