Actor Kevin Costner discusses rumors of his relationship with singer Jewel and reveals conditions for a potential 'Yellowstone' comeback.

In a chat with Howard Stern, the actor cleared up rumors about him dating singer Jewel.

"Jewel and I are simply friends. We've never had a romantic encounter," Costner shared. "She's remarkable, and I wouldn't want these rumors to wreck our friendship because that's what it is. She means a lot to me. She's stunning enough to date."

Costner, who's promoting his fresh flick "Horizon: An American Saga," explained that the gossip started following an invite to Richard Branson's Necker Island, where he, Jewel, Emma Watson, and a few non-celebrity pals spent time together.

Costner recalled having "deep conversations" with Jewel and Watson.

"I've had text conversations with [Jewel]. She's incredibly intelligent, and she's been through quite a lot herself. So we've forged a friendship," he said. "We don't share a romantic history, and we've never dated."

Although he finds Jewel attractive, Costner shared that things didn't work out romantically between them.

"She's beautiful and smart enough for all those things. It just didn't happen between us. She's exactly as you'd imagine, but things didn't pan out."

On the subject of his other loves, "Yellowstone" is high on his list.

When Stern expressed his admiration for the popular Paramount series that Costner starred in for five years, the actor reciprocated.

However, he won't reprise his role as patriarch John Dutton unless "the stars align just right."

"I need the storylines, scripts, and time to work on more than one project a year," Costner said. "When that's not possible, it's not feasible for me anymore."

"Horizon" is set to be a series of films with Costner participating in co-writing, co-producing, directing, and acting in the first film.

"Horizon: An American Saga" is set to hit theaters on June 28. The film is distributed by Warner Bros., which, like CNN, is part of Warner Bros. Discovery.
