New Challenges in Armie Hammer's Life: The actor shared a candid update, a day before his 38th birthday, about his current financial struggles. In an Instagram post, Hammer revealed that he had to part ways with his cherished truck due to his inability to afford fuel.
Is Armie Hammer Bankrupt?
In the video, the "Call Me by Your Name" actor revealed that he had been residing in Los Angeles for a few weeks, following his stint on the Cayman Islands. Since the various accusations against him surfaced in early 2021 – including fantasies of cannibalism and sexual misconduct – he has been absent from Hollywood's limelight.
It appears that these circumstances have impacted his finances. "Ever since I've been back in L.A., I've been shelling out around $400 to $500 on fuel, and I can't seem to make ends meet. I just can't afford it anymore," Hammer admitted. He bought the truck as a Christmas gift for himself in 2017 and has shared many memories with it, including camping trips and driving cross-country.
Now, it's time for a more fuel-efficient vehicle: "It's compact. It's an electric car. I'm estimating I'll spend around $10 on fuel each month," Hammer shared. He remains optimistic: "Tomorrow is my birthday. On August 28th, I'll be stepping into my new car, new apartment, and embarking on a new chapter in Los Angeles."
Controversial Allegations against Armie Hammer
In 2021, Armie Hammer was embroiled in several scandalous allegations. Women claimed to have received messages from Hammer, detailing violent sexual fantasies and cannibalism. As a result of the scandal, his agency dropped him and his reputation in Hollywood suffered.
In June 2024, he returned to the public eye for the first time in years, to discuss the matter on the "Painful Lessons" podcast. In July, Piers Morgan (59) also published an interview with Hammer, during which he addressed the allegations and discussed his financial situation.
Despite his struggles, Armie Hammer had to sell his cherished truck due to high fuel costs. Now, he's looking forward to a more fuel-efficient car, which he plans to purchase on his birthday.
