"Fast & Furious 10" - Action highlight starts in the home theater

"Fast & Furious 10" with superstars Vin Diesel (56) and Jason Momoa (44) is clearly one of this year's cinema highlights. In the action blockbuster, which once again thrills with thrilling car chases, Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, and his PS family engage in a breathtaking battle with the new, flamboyant villain Dante Reyes, played by Momoa.

Now "Fast & Furious" fans can also enjoy the tenth installment of the hit film series on their TV sets at home: "Fast & Furious 10" starts on Sky Cinema on December 8. The work by director Louis Leterrier (50) will also be available on Sky and its streaming service Wow from this date. Everything you need to know about the highlight of the "Fast & Furious" series so far.

"Fast & Furious 10": The plot

Dominic "Dom" Toretto has a problem. After he and his crew once relieved gangster boss Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida, 66) of a considerable sum of money in Rio de Janeiro and caused the drug lord's death, his son Dante Reyes swears revenge. The giant villain has been meticulously preparing for his mission for years. His aim is not only to defeat Dom, but also to destroy his family, which has grown over the course of nine films, in order to inflict maximum damage on the head of the family.

A wild chase around the planet begins. In the Italian capital Rome, for example, Dom must first make sure that Dante does not use a huge bomb to reduce the Vatican to rubble. After this explosive action kick-off, the journey continues to Los Angeles, London, Rio de Janeiro and even Antarctica.

These stars star in the tenth "Fast & Furious" installment

The ensemble of the action film franchise has grown enormously over the years. Dom's family, consisting of the love of his life Letty (Michelle Rodriguez, 45), sister Mia (Jordana Brewster, 43), brother Jakob (John Cena, 46) and crew members Roman (Tyrese Gibson, 44) and Tej (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, 46), Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel, 34) and Han (Sung Kang, 51), also appear in "Fast & Furious 10".

Also returning are action star Jason Statham (56) as Deckard Shaw, Charlize Theron (48) as Cipher and Oscar winner Helen Mirren (78) as Deckard's mother Queenie Shaw.

New to the "Fast & Furious" series in part ten are Oscar winner Brie Larson (34) as the mysterious Tess and "Reacher" star Alan Ritchson (41) as Aimes, a successor to Mr. Nobody, alongside top villain Momoa. Daniela Melchior (27), known from "The Suicide Squad", is also involved as Brazilian racing driver Isabel Neves. Oscar winner and acting icon Rita Moreno (91) plays Abuelita Toretto, the grandmother of Dom, Mia and Jakob. So there's no doubt that there's plenty of star power in this sequel.

The gigantic success of "Fast & Furious 10"

The new highlight of the action film series was well received by fans and moviegoers alike. A whopping 67 million US dollars were collected in North America on the opening weekend, putting "Fast & Furious 10" at the top of the local cinema charts right from the start. In the end, the tenth "Fast & Furious" part achieved a gigantic worldwide box office result of over 714 million dollars.

Incidentally, "Fast & Furious 10" is just the prelude to the grand finale of the film series: a sequel, currently untitled, is due to be released in cinemas in 2025. Further "Fast & Furious" parts are also not ruled out for the future. Superstar Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson (51) is also set to return in his own new spin-off film, which will focus on the agent he plays, Luke Hobbs.
