About to be Canonized: The "Influencer of God"

Carlo Acutis, a 15-year-old Italian boy who passed away in 2006, has achieved a remarkable feat in the Catholic Church by having two miracles attributed to him, making him a potential candidate for canonization and possibly the first millennial to join this exclusive circle.

According to Vatican News, Pope Francis II has recognized these miracles, allowing Acutis' potential entry into sainthood. Born in 1991, Acutis would be the first person from the millennial generation to become canonized.

The Catholic Church requires two miracles for one individual to be canonized. Acutis, an avid computer enthusiast, began creating an online directory of Eucharistic miracles at the age of 11. After his tragic passing due to leukemia, he was often referred to as a "cyber apostle" or "influencer of God" in the media.

Acutis was previously beatified in 2020 after a Brazilian child's life-threatening pancreatic condition was cured and recognized as a miracle. The second miracle involves a 21-year-old student from Costa Rica who sustained serious head injuries in a bicycle accident in Florence in 2022. Her mother prayed at Acutis' grave for her daughter's healing, and on the same day, the student regained consciousness.

Members of the millennial generation, also known as Generation Y, are individuals born between the early 1980s and the late 1990s.
