Bidding Process - A Stegosaurus skeleton might sell for six million dollars.
A Stegosaurus skeleton that's around 150 million years old could fetch up to $6 million (about €5.5 million) at a New York auction, estimate specialists. This over six-meter-long, three and a half meter-high dinosaur, named "Apex", is considered "unbelievably well-preserved" by the auction house Sotheby's. They announced this information on a Wednesday. The find was made in Colorado, USA, in 2022, and it's slated to be auctioned on July 17th.
In recent times, dinosaur skeletons or their parts have been sold for millions of dollars. Many experts share negative thoughts on the auctioning of scientifically significant skeletons.
