The chase culminates at the Zoo Station: After an extended quest, the cops apprehend a dangerous criminal in Berlin. The individual is believed to have murdered an employee of the security department at a refugee shelter in Potsdam in the morning.

The presumed perpetrator was detained close to the Berlin Zoological Garden train station. The state prosecutor's office in the Brandenburg capital made this announcement. They had spent hours tracking him down. The legal authorities have sought a warrant. The guy will face a judge tomorrow.

The prosecution and law enforcement did not initially disclose any details about the suspect or the situation. They stated that the victim was a 33-year-old security employee with Syrian citizenship.

The man was discovered in the morning at a refugee shelter in Potsdam with severe injuries. He subsequently perished in a medical facility, as the legal authorities disclosed.

"Today is a sorrowful day for our city," commented Mayor Mike Schubert. "A person who, in the service of our city, safeguarded those seeking security, has been tragically taken by a violent crime - this news has profoundly impacted me."

As per information from the city of Potsdam, a pastoral care service was on site, tending to the residents and dwellers of the shelter as well as the coworkers of the deceased. The facility in the Potsdam-West region has been rented by the state capital since 2022 as a temporary living arrangement for refugees.

According to the city administration, there are currently 30 people spread over 17 rooms, mostly families. The city employed an agency to safeguard the inhabitants. The victim of the heinous act was a worker at this security company.
