A Canadian murderer was killed by a fellow prisoner.

For almost a decade, Robert Pickton has been imprisoned for taking the lives of at least half a dozen women. Rumors suggest that he might have killed even more; their bodies, allegedly, turned into pig feed. Recently, he encountered a violent fellow inmate and didn't make it out alive.

Seventy-four-year-old Canadian serial killer Robert Pickton passed away two weeks after being wounded by a fellow prisoner. Canadian authorities confirmed his demise at a Quebec hospital, following the attack in mid-May. Prior to his death, Pickton was placed in a medically induced coma and connected to a ventilator.

In 2007, Pickton was handed a life sentence for brutally murdering six women. He was also strongly suspected of ending the lives of numerous other women. Reportedly, he once bragged to an undercover agent about killing 49 women.

Between 1997 and 2001, Pickton is thought to have abducted and murdered his victims. The corpses of these women were discovered on Pickton's farm in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. Back then, the authorities in Vancouver were heavily criticized for disregarding the disappearances of these women, many of whom were sex workers, drug addicts, or indigenous people. In 2002, Pickton was finally apprehended.

The remains or DNA of 33 women, many of whom came from Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, were found on Pickton's farm in Port Coquitlam. The lengthy investigations into the disappearances of numerous women took several years. At the trial, a witness for the prosecution testified that Pickton had spoken of how he had eliminated his victims and fed their leftovers to his pigs. Health officials cautioned the neighbors who had possibly purchased pork from his farm, fearing that the pork might contain human remains.

A 51-year-old inmate is being held accountable for the assault on Pickton, mentioned police spokesman Hugues Beaulieu. The Canadian Correctional Service is currently investigating the altercation.

Cynthia Cardinal, whose sister Georgina Papin was brutally killed by Pickton, expressed feelings of overwhelm when she got a text message informing her of the attack on Pickton. She called it "Karma."
