"The Bachelor" - A Bachelor's degree is not enough

One Bachelor is not enough. In the 14th season, RTL is sending two bachelors into the race. The two "Rosenkavaliere" will vie for the hearts of the candidates in a direct duel. The popular dating format will even be renamed. The Bachelor" will become "The Bachelors". This has now been announced by the broadcaster.

However, the number of women will not be doubled in the new format. The two men will therefore meet the same ladies. There will even be fewer participants in the battle for the roses than before. According to RTL, there will be 22 female singles in the next season. In the last round, there were 23 candidates (including those who moved up), and in 2022 there will be 24.

Getting to know each other already in Germany

The new season of "The Bachelor" - or the first season of "The Bachelors" - is breaking another habit. The show does not start in an exotic location as usual, but in Germany. Only after a first sniff around on home soil do the Bachelors and their chosen ones fly to South Africa.

This is the first time since the fourth season in 2014 that filming has taken place in the African country again. Since then, the USA and Mexico have provided the setting. There has only been one flirtation in Germany so far: Season 11 with Niko Griesert (33) had to do without exotic flair due to the corona pandemic.

It has not yet been decided when the new season will start on RTL and RTL+ . In 2023, it started on March 1, in previous years in January.

The names of the two Bachelors are also not yet known. However, they will be introduced on December 6.
