Baden-Wurttemberg - 1.5 Tonnes of munition seized: Possible Reichsbürger in U-Haft

A weapons dealer and alleged Reichsbürger from Baden-Württemberg is in custody for allegedly possessing weapons illegally. According to police and prosecutors, there have been violations of the Weapons Act, the War Weapons Control Act, and the Explosives Act. During a search in March, over a thousand weapons and weapon parts, as well as over a ton of ammunition, were found at the 56-year-old man's residence in Aldingen, according to the Konstanz Police and the Rottweil Prosecutor's Office.

During another raid, weapons, ammunition, prohibited items, prohibited mortars, and weapon parts were seized. The authorities reportedly revoked his firearms permit from him.

Rising number of "Reichsbürger" in Baden-Württemberg

Investigations are being conducted for violations of the Weapons Act, the War Weapons Control Act, and the Explosives Act, it was stated. A warrant for his arrest has been issued and executed.

Speaking of weapons, rapid-fire rifles should only be possessed by the Bundeswehr, according to a police spokesperson. For explosives, special permits are required. In addition, there is the connection to the "Reichsbürger" scene.

Scene has grown to approximately 4000 people

Further weapons were also discovered when the weapons authority had already revoked his firearms permits due to the initial findings. The investigation is continuing.

"Reichsbürger" are people who do not recognize the Federal Republic and its democratic structures. In Baden-Württemberg, the number of so-called Reichsbürger and self-governing individuals, according to the Constitutional Protection Agency, rose to around 4000 in the past year.

The weapons and ammunition seized during the raid in Aldingen were linked to the Rottweil Public Prosecutor's Office's investigation against the suspect from Baden-Württemberg. Despite having his firearms permit revoked, further weapons were found during subsequent inspections.

The alleged Reichsbürger from Baden-Württemberg, under investigation for illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, was also found to have prohibited mortars and weapon parts in his residence.
