Turista tedesco muore in acqua durante un viaggio in barca a Maiorca.
An older gentleman of 58 years, originating from Zossen near Berlin, Germany, experienced difficulties due to an illness and sought relaxation in Mallorca. During a boat trip, it appeared that he encountered trouble while swimming in the sea. His rescue came only when he had already stopped moving.
Unfortunately, this unlucky German tourist lost his life in Mallorca. The "Mallorca Zeitung" (MZ) reported that the man had a brain tumor and was attempting to recover from numerous surgeries, as his brother shared with the newspaper. The tragic event occurred on June 8. Upon our request, the German consulate in Palma confirmed the man's demise, according to the "MZ".
The boat excursion could accommodate a maximum of 168 passengers and embarked from Alcúdia in northern Mallorca. The cause of the accident in Pollença Bay remained unclear initially.
The captain of the catamaran may have believed the German man was snorkeling close to the vessel, based on eyewitness accounts reported by the "MZ". However, when the man did not show signs of movement for a prolonged period, he was retrieved from the water. The police initiated an investigation into the matter.
