Ukraine at NATO summit - Zelenskyy: Demandions for western weapons must end
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy once again demanded the lifting of all restrictions on the use of Western weapons against Russian territory at the Nato Summit in Washington. "If we want to win and save our country, then all these limitations must be lifted," emphasized the Ukrainian leader during a joint press conference with Nato Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. The focus is primarily on military bases in Russian territory, from which rocket attacks like the one on Monday on the capital Kiev originate. "If they have attacked us and killed our children, it's crazy to ask why we can't attack these military bases," said Zelenskyy.
Ukraine defends itself against Russian invasion with massive Western support. Several allies have supplied Kiev with rockets and missile systems with longer ranges, but their deployment areas are limited to areas along the Ukrainian border. However, rocket attacks like the one on Monday are launched from air bases over 600 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The missiles provided by Britain and France cannot reach these. The US-supplied ATACMS missiles also have a range of only about 300 kilometers. However, the Ukrainian army has already attacked these air defense bases with drones of its own production.
