Water sports - Youth hostel in Prora open Surf school building

The largest youth hostel in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Prora has expanded its offerings with a surf school. The building was inaugurated on a Thursday. With the offerings of the Binz Sailing School, youth groups and school classes can now take water sports courses with a focus on team building and self-efficacy there. "Gliding alone on a surfboard for the first time over the vast Baltic Sea: That strengthens self-responsibility and self-confidence and awareness for nature," said Jan Quinnert, operator of the newly built surf school.

The offer in the northern part of the Binz Bay is intended to make the program of the Youth Hostel more attractive. According to Kai-Michael Stybel, managing director of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern DJH State Association, a quarter of all overnight stays of the association in the Youth Hostel Prora are achieved. Therefore, special educational and leisure offerings are important there - with the Baltic Sea in front of the hostel facade, a water sports offer is "practically mandatory".

Windsurfing, Stand-up-Paddling and Kayak Tours

The Binz Sailing School, provider of the Surf School in Prora, now offers courses for windsurfing and stand-up paddling as well as guided kayak tours there. A spokesperson for the Youth Hostel stated that the prices are correspondingly low for the target group. In addition, they offer two formats on land - for girls and boys in the fifth and sixth grade who are not yet allowed to participate in the water sports program in the open sea. The providers have designed a Beach-Olympiad and a beach hike for them. During this, waste will also be collected. The construction directly on the beach promenade cost the Youth Hostel approximately 270,000 Euro, according to their statements.

  1. Interested individuals can now enroll in water sports courses at the surf school in Prora, which is located in Germany's Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region and is part of the largest youth hostel in the area.
  2. For those looking to combine their journey with both sports and education, the surf school in Binz, specifically at Prora, offers courses that focus on team building and self-efficacy, making it an ideal destination for youth groups and school classes.
  3. The expansion of the Youth Hostel's offerings in Binz Bay includes windsurfing, stand-up paddling, and guided kayak tours, which are all provided by the Binz Sailing School, the same institution responsible for the newly established surf school in Prora.
  4. The Surf School in Prora, situated near the Baltic Sea, is a popular choice among tourists interested in water sports, as its location and affordable prices make it an attractive option for those looking to participate in activities like windsurfing and stand-up paddling.
  5.
